I found my knees giving way on the way down Scafell, and the route up to Pillar was a killer. Hands and knees all the way up. Then Great Gable was lovely in its loneliness. The night traverse from the slate mine past the Tarn was horrendous, I have scars all over my right leg and got wet feet as I constantly struggled with no path, bog, rocky outcrops, a GPS with dead batteries and the dark. Amazing effort James very well done. You never doubted yourself which is incredible. We whimped out at Honister after 9 peaks and for a brief moment I considered carrying on with you but felt that I had not enough food to keep going much longer so we did Skiddaw after a night’s sleep and a cooked breakfast!!! You have inspired me to enter the event again next year and have the same grit and determination.
Well Done !!
great vid, but my 3 girls finished in 23 1/2 hrs! you’ll ave to do better next time lads, money well raised tho chaps… steve
Well done James. Great effort. How long did your legs need to recover? Can’t believe you were left behind in the dark. Trish and I got stuck up Helvellyn in the dark once, not a pleasant experience – we ended sliding down on our backsides because we couldn’t find the path.
