10 Peaks The Lakes
last entries

The 10 Peaks Challenge is a non–stop hike over the 10 highest peaks in any one area. The inaugural event takes place in the Lake District on the weekend of 31st July 2010, covering more than 70 kilometres with over 7,000 metres of ascent.

The 10 Peaks is a charity event and as such is free to enter and open to anyone who is fit, healthy and mad enough to attempt it!

Each participant will be responsible for their own navigation from peak to peak and must carry a map and compass or GPS, and know how to use them.

This is an attempt to get people together who want to fill their lives with extraordinary experiences and at the same time benefit those who can’t.

In memory of John Frederick Smith,
who loved the Lakes, loved to walk and loved a challenge.
